All
women are invited to participate in the many activities of the TLCW.
Our women of the church are a continued blessing to the operation
of TLC. Your time and talents are most welcome!
TLCW
Circles meet the third Tuesday (some Saturdays) of each month at
1 p.m. for Bible Study and Fellowship. From
Lefsa Making to Love Day, the energy flowing throughout TLC is generated
by the enthusiasm and joy with which our church women approach any
project.
Many beautiful quilts, lovingly made by
TLC women, are sent each year to Lutheran World Relief and local family charities.
A Look at the Support Given by TLCW
We have been told that many in our congregation do not know what the money is used for that TLCW makes selling lefse, Norwegian goodies and other items at the Holiday Fest. Some of the items that have been purchased for the church in the past few years include: the mechanism to make the south doors handicap-accessible; much-needed ladders and a shop vac; kitchen floor mats and all new tablecloths, silverware and dishes for the kitchen; the poinsettia tree and banners for the sanctuary; books for the library and the blind for the library window. In addition, we have given money to Hank Steltzer for a stove, kettles (and maybe some other items) for the orphanage in Africa. We've given to the Women's Center.
On a yearly basis, we make donations to the TLC Learning Center, Coeur d'Alene Homes, Lutherhaven, Relay for Life and the compassion fund. When MOPS held their meetings, we also gave them a donation each year. We pay for all the daily devotionals, cups and wafers for communion, some supplies for the kitchen, support the ecumenical kitchen and the Cradle Roll. In addition to all the items donated by you for the quilting and kits assembled, we purchase some items and also pay postage for everything shipped to Lutheran World Relief.
Each year, we give each TLC high school graduate a quilt, and for the past few years we have given quilts to needy children at Christmas time. We are now making quilts have have for those who come here through the Family Promise program.
We gratefully appreciate all the volunteers who spend countless hours working and all the donations contributed.
